+ Q. Are you accepting new clients?

A. I am currently maintaining a waitlist. Please contact me if you’d like to be added to it or if you have questions about whether we’d be a good fit.

+Q. Where will we meet?

A. We can meet either virtually, via a secure HIPAA-compliant telehealth service, or in person at my office in Fountain Square in Indianapolis.

In-person offerings are only available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Telehealth options are available Monday - Thursday.

+ Q. Do you take insurance for clinical services?

A. Yes - for individual therapy. I am in network with:

  • Anthem BCBS (commercial, not state-based)

  • Optum/United Healthcare/UMR

If you have a different insurance provider, you can request a monthly superbill for you to submit for out-of-network reimbursement. I am also enrolled in a program called Reimbursify that aims to make this process easier for you and gives you one free out-of-network claim.

*Important note about couples counseling

Insurance companies only reimburse 30–36 minutes for couples therapy under CPT code 90847. Because this is not enough time for meaningful relational work, I do not bill insurance for couples counseling, and clients seeking couples work will be charged my full self-pay rate for a 60-minute session.

Insurance can still be used as an exception, but sessions must be shortened to 30 minutes and must meet insurance criteria for medically necessary family therapy. To meet this criterion, all of the following must be true:

  • The primary focus is on treating one partner’s mental health diagnosis

  • That partner’s symptoms significantly impact the relationship

  • The other partner’s involvement is necessary for that person’s treatment

  • The goal is to improve the diagnosed partner’s functioning, not the relationship itself

Most relationship‑focused goals (communication, conflict patterns, trust repair, reconnection, etc.) do not meet insurance criteria. If the work does not meet insurance criteria, it also cannot be submitted for out-of-network reimbursement. After we’ve had a few sessions and have a clearer understanding of your needs, we can talk about whether insurance billing is clinically and ethically appropriate for our work together.

+ Q. What are your rates?

A. My hourly rates for clinical work are as follows:

  • Intake: $175 for individuals, $190 for couples

  • Individual sessions: $125 - $150

  • Couples & Family sessions (60 minutes): $150 - $175

If you are an adult in need of a gender-affirming surgery/treatment letter, I am happy to write a letter for you, free of charge. I’ve signed the GALAP pledge, declaring my belief and commitment that trans healthcare should be accessible to all, regardless of the ability to pay. If you only need a letter, we only have to meet once for the evaluation. If you would like ongoing therapy afterward, we can discuss what options are available to you.

My supervision rates match my individual session rates. Group supervision is available with customized pricing. Please contact me for a tailored quote.

+Q. Can I use my FSA/HSA card to pay for clinical services?

Yes. Therapy is an eligible medical expense, so you can use your FSA or HSA card to pay for both individual and couples sessions, even when sessions are self‑pay.

+ Q. How often will we meet?

A. In the beginning, I usually recommend meeting weekly or biweekly so we can build momentum and get to know one another. As we clarify your goals and understand what support you need, if it appears that we do not need to meet as frequently, we can always adjust accordingly. I know that life is busy, and I will do my best to work with you to meet your needs.

+Q. How long do sessions last?

A. Sessions are 50-60 minutes each, with the option to extend longer if requested or deemed necessary. If you choose to use insurance for couples counseling, sessions will be 30 minutes each due to insurance reimbursement limits.

+Q: Do you have evening or weekend hours?

A. I offer evening appointments, but not weekends:

  • Monday - Thursday, 10 AM - 7 PM

  • Tuesdays are telehealth only.

  • Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays offer both telehealth and in-person sessions.

  • My latest appointment each day begins at 6 PM.

+ Q. Are you queer and/or trans-friendly?

A. Absolutely! I genuinely love working with trans and gender-expansive people. As a member of the queer community myself, and with many gender-diverse friends and chosen family, it’s an honor to support you. I also pursue ongoing training to stay informed and provide affirming, knowledgeable care.

+ Q. What does "religious trauma" mean?

A. I define religious trauma as any impactful negative experience connected to a spiritual leader or institution. It may involve direct harm, but it can also include teachings or beliefs that created shame, guilt, identity conflict, or emotional distress. If it shaped you in ways that still affect your life, it’s worth exploring.

+Q. What will the first session be like?

A. Before we begin, we’ll schedule a 15-minute consultation to make sure we’re a good fit and answer any initial questions. After that consultation, if you decide that you want to move forward in working with me, we will schedule your first appointment.

Before our consultation, you will receive an email from my electronic health record (EHR) system with a unique link that will take you to your secure and HIPAA-compliant client portal. There will be a set of consent forms and intake documents to review and complete at least 24 hours before your session. If you decide to move forward, I will send a few more documents to review and sign before our first full session.

During our first session, we’ll review your intake, discuss practice policies, and clarify your goals. We may not dive deeply into the work right away. The first session is about building a foundation so we can start in the best way possible.

+ Q. I'm ready! What should I bring?

A. Yay! I’m excited to meet you!

Logistically speaking, if you are using insurance, please upload your insurance card to your portal and review your policy for details about your deductible, copays, coinsurance, or out-of-pocket maximums.

Personally, it is incredibly helpful to think about what you want to get out of therapy, what barriers you feel are getting in the way of achieving those goals, how you want to feel, and what you hope to learn. And, most importantly, please bring an open and curious mindset. Therapy works best when you’re willing to explore patterns and experiences with honesty, curiosity, and an openness to being challenged to think in new and creative ways. I'm so looking forward to working with you!

Every single one wants to matter. We want our lives, and our stories and the choices we made or didn’t make to matter...It all matters.
